Fusion Czech Team: Let's Catch Up!

It's been a whirlwind these past few months, preparing and planning and packing and trying not to freak out entirely. Daniel had a huge work project happening the same week we left the States, I was an emotional basket-case, and we were both fighting colds.

But, we made it; Daniel & I have been living in the Czech Republic just over a full week now! The Kostel Jinak members blew us away with the amazing job they did preparing an apartment for us. Lenka had set everything up to be so welcoming when we arrived and people came together to provide us with some linens and a few food items. We've heard countless stories of the many weekends of cleaning, repairing, or throwing out trash, leading up to our arrival. Our home is far better than anything we could have imagined. Daniel and I often joke that we have more here than we ever did in our house in MN. We're incredibly grateful!

We just got internet this morning, so let me give you a broad overview of what the past week has looked like:
- Daniel and I each have gone on beautiful hikes with friends. The fall colors are still raging strong here, and we're surrounded by vast forested hills that are absolutely amazing!
- We've hosted an "open house" - a casual social time for Kostel friends (we discovered quickly that we didn't quite have enough chairs for everyone, so that led to an Ikea order; I still need to assemble these things)
- We've attended a Kostel Jinak weekend retreat at the beautiful hotel, Malenovice

And a broad overview of what's ahead this week:

- Daniel is officially doing office hours for General Mills (working remotely) across the street at Petr's office

- We have weekly Tuesday morning meetings over breakfast with Vašek

- I'll be helping Lida with a children's homeschool group on Tuesday later mornings (last week, we learned a little bit of the traditions of Halloween; tomorrow we're taking the kids "trick-or-treating")

- Wednesday evening we're hosting another open house

- Thursday evening we're hosting our first informational meeting about English Conversation at Kostel Jinak

- Saturday morning Daniel will be attending a biweekly men's Bible study

- Saturday evening is the Kostel Jinak service

Now that the internet is up and running, we'll be doing frequent blog postings to keep you updated on everything that's happening here. Hopefully this short entry has at least given you a slight glimpse into what's going on though. Below are a few pics of our past week.
